10 actions that you can undertake in your Community or Voluntary Organisation to End Child Poverty

  1. Get the information and facts on child poverty
  2. Take the facts from this site and use them in your own plans and documents
  3. Talk with local agencies, schools, religious bodies, unions and community and voluntary organisations. Urge them to speak on child poverty and to support actions to end it.
  4. Write about child poverty in your organisation’s communications, e.g. newsletter, journals, e-zine
  5. Support other organisations who are lobbying on the issue of child poverty
  6. Encourage consultation with children on matters affecting them, and their participation in developing policy
  7. Ensure that your organisation includes child poverty elimination in its strategic and operational plans
  8. Encourage your organisation to highlight child poverty issues in their communications
  9. Raise child poverty issues with your local European, National and Local representatives
  10. Contact the End Child Poverty Coalition to discuss these actions.
